In Castelvenere, wine is not simply something to taste. It is a story preserved in the land, the vineyards and the ancient cellars carved into the tuff stone.
From 19 to 23 August 2026, the 44th Festa del Vino brings this story back to the streets of the medieval village through five days dedicated to winemaking, culture and the promotion of the local area. The event will feature twenty-two wineries from the province of Benevento, representing the diversity and quality of Sannio’s wine production.
From 7:00 pm each evening, visitors will be able to explore stands presenting local labels, flavours and places connected with the area’s rural heritage. The route will lead into Castelvenere’s characteristic tuff-stone cellars, where wine continues to tell a story of stone, agricultural work and skills handed down over time.
The programme combines tastings with cultural events, sensory experiences and a Wine Talk focusing on the role of wine tourism in Sannio. The Premio Radici will also return, recognising people whose work contributes to the growth and promotion of wine culture.
Music will animate several locations at the same time, from Piazza Mercato and Piazza San Barbato to the open-air Municipal Theatre and Torre Venere. Concerts, marching bands, folk music and DJ sets will accompany each evening until late at night.
The Festa del Vino invites visitors to discover Castelvenere through its deepest bond: the connection between its community, its vineyards and a tradition that continues to evolve without losing sight of its roots.
