Sometimes, a small product of the land is enough to tell the story of an entire community. In San Lupo, on Saturday, 19 September, the Fagiolo della Regina will take centre stage during a festival celebrating the flavours, crops and knowledge rooted in the area's agricultural traditions.
The event begins at 9:30 p.m. in Piazza Umberto I, where Pro Loco San Lupo will bring the community together for an evening dedicated to one of the expressions of the area's local food culture.
Yet the value of events like this extends far beyond the festival itself. Behind a traditional local product lie knowledge handed down through generations, respect for the seasons, and the work of families and producers who continue to maintain a close relationship with the land. Bringing it into the heart of the village turns food into an opportunity to rediscover what makes a community distinctive and to pass that knowledge on to younger generations.
The event also reflects the collaboration of several organisations committed to promoting local produce and identity. Among those featured are Slow Food Valle Telesina, Slow Food Tammaro Fortore APS, Coldiretti and La Guardiense.
The Fagiolo della Regina Festival is therefore an opportunity to gather in the heart of San Lupo and discover how even the simplest ingredient can preserve stories of agricultural biodiversity, food culture and traditions that continue to thrive in the small villages of the Sannio area.
