From October 29, 2026 to November 1, 2026

There are places where autumn is more than just a season. It is a collection of aromas, flavours and traditions that return to fill the streets. Vitulano is one of them.
From October 29 to November 1, 2026, the village welcomes the 33rd Chestnut and Vitulano Pecorino Festival, celebrating two products deeply connected to the area's culinary identity.
On one side are chestnuts, a symbol of the surrounding forests and autumn days. On the other is Vitulano pecorino, a traditional sheep's milk cheese that reflects the area's cheesemaking heritage. Two different flavours united by their connection to the land, local craftsmanship and knowledge passed down through generations.
Yet this festival is also an opportunity to discover another side of Vitulano.
Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, historic streets and charming village corners, visitors can enjoy an atmosphere where nature and tradition come together. Over four days, the festival offers the chance to taste regional specialities and rediscover the importance of celebrations that have become part of the community's shared memory.
The 33rd edition embraces the theme "A Journey Through Nature and Tradition", with art and music complementing the celebration of local food and the village itself.
Because a traditional festival is about more than what appears on the table. It is about the people who preserve recipes, those who continue to value the products of their land, and a community that proudly shares its heritage.
And in Vitulano, for four days, these flavours will tell another chapter of Sannio's story.
