Nestled among the gentle hills of the Sannio region, Ceppaloni is a village where time seems to slow down. Just a few kilometers from Benevento, it stands in a panoramic position between the Sabato and Tesa rivers, surrounded by a landscape that changes with every season. At the heart of the village is its medieval castle, dating back to the 12th century, which towers over the historic center with elegant simplicity.
Wandering through the alleys reveals hidden courtyards, scenic views, and a rare authenticity shaped by stone and silence. Ceppaloni is also a land of flavor and tradition: every summer, it hosts the renowned Sagra della Porziuncola, celebrating the local “montanara” – a fried pizza topped with tomato sauce and cheese, affectionately called “porziuncola” in the local dialect. Alongside it, handmade fusilli, pecorino cheese, sausage sandwiches, and local wine turn the village into a true feast of taste and conviviality. With its religious events, folklore, and scenic walking trails, Ceppaloni preserves a deep rural and spiritual soul. It’s the perfect destination for those seeking an authentic escape, where tradition is alive, hospitality is genuine, and every corner holds a new story to tell.
