From June 25, 2026 to June 29, 2026

There are traditions that are passed down through words. Others continue to live on through gestures, hard work and shared experiences.
From 26 to 29 June 2026Faicchio will host the 18th edition of the Grain Festival, organised by the Pro Loco Casali di Faicchio. Over the years, the festival has become one of the most representative events of the Sannio summer and a unique opportunity to rediscover the value of rural culture, which still plays a fundamental role in the identity of this remarkable territory.
For four days, the village becomes a place where past and present come together. Ancient farming traditions are brought back to life through captivating historical reenactments that retrace every stage of wheat cultivation: from ploughing and sowing to harvesting and threshing, culminating in the symbolic activation of the historic threshing machine, a lasting reminder of a heritage proudly preserved by the local community.
Alongside these demonstrations, the festival offers workshops for children, activities dedicated to agricultural biodiversity, exhibitions of historic farming tools, moments of spirituality, folk music performances and a rich culinary programme showcasing the finest local products.
Among the highlights are the Taste Workshop dedicated to Matese Rye, locally known as secena and recognised as a Slow Food Presidium, the gathering of vintage tractors, the celebration in honour of Saint Isidore, patron saint of farmers, and the evening folk music performances, concluding with the final concert by Gigione.
But the Grain Festival is much more than a celebration.
It is the story of a community that chooses, year after year, to preserve its roots and pass them on to future generations. It is a tribute to a time when the rhythm of life was guided by the land, while also looking towards the future with the awareness that understanding one's history is the first step towards enhancing the value of a place.
This is what makes the Faicchio Grain Festival so special: its ability to transform memory into an opportunity for people to come together, celebrating not only wheat and agricultural traditions, but above all the men and women who continue, with passion and dedication, to keep one of the Sannio's most authentic traditions alive.
