The Faun’s Wood is not a simple visit: it is an experience that moves, teaches, and stays within you.

It was born from the dream of Alessio, who as a boy spent his afternoons caring for the very first animals — two small goats and a sheep — on the family land. Over the years, and through challenges like the pandemic, his family protected every animal with dignity and love, even donating all newborn goats to charity rather than allowing them to be undervalued.

Today, the Wood is a lively world populated by affectionate goats, gentle sheep, rescued horses, curious cats, ducks, butterflies, and wild birds that gather in the tiny houses decorated by Giuliana and by the children who visit.

Giuliana becomes a storyteller: she invents tales about the Faun — half man, half goat — who appears only to those who truly respect nature.
Alessio, now 27, guides visitors with calm confidence, teaching how to approach animals with presence and kindness.

Visits are by reservation only and designed for small groups, ensuring serenity and genuine interactions. Children can feed or bottle-feed baby goats, milk the goats, walk among horses, discover hidden bird nests, or watch butterflies return at dusk like “a living rainbow”. Families may also enjoy picnics under the shaded trees, immersed in pure nature.

At the Faun’s Wood, you don’t simply meet animals.
You learn from them.

Curiosities

• The first residents of the Wood were two goats and a sheep rescued by Alessio. Today they are the most affectionate and sociable animals, often running toward visitors as if welcoming old friends.

• The Faun, a mythological creature half man and half goat, is the symbolic guardian of the place. Giuliana tells children that “the Faun appears only to those who truly respect animals,” turning it into a gentle lesson in empathy.

• Every little house for birds and butterflies is hand-decorated by visiting children, who often return year after year to add new colors. At sunset, the butterflies come back together, “like a rainbow settling into the forest.”

• The birds have a morning ritual: Giuliana says they “make tea” in the tiny feeders prepared for them. Children believe it — and adults find themselves wanting to believe it too.

• Families can enjoy picnics under the shaded trees, surrounded by nature and the soft presence of the animals.

• During the pandemic, to protect the dignity of their herd, Alessio’s family donated all newborn goats to charity, refusing to allow them to be sold “by the kilo.”

• Many children “adopt” a goat and receive updates about it, creating a long-lasting emotional bond.
