Il Sannio tra sapori e folklore - Sulle orme della Via del Grano

There are places where traditions do not simply belong to the past, but continue to live through everyday gestures, handed-down stories, community celebrations, and flavours that still feel like home. Foglianise is one of these places: a village deeply connected to the memory of wheat, rural culture, and that unmistakably Sannio ability to turn simplicity into beauty.
On 10 and 11 July 2026, the village will host “Sannio Through Flavours and Folklore – On the Trail of the Wheat Route”, an event that invites visitors to rediscover the authentic heart of the territory through a path made of taste, music, popular traditions, and shared identity.
Promoted by UNPLI Benevento and the Pro Loco associations of Sannio, the event was created as a major moment of encounter between communities, associations, visitors, and local organisations committed to enhancing the heritage of Sannio. At the centre of the event is the Wheat Route, a symbol of an ancient history made of work, harvests, seasons, skilled hands, and deep bonds with the land.
The atmosphere will be enriched by stands featuring local typical products, musical moments, entertainment, workshops, and activities dedicated to the traditions of the area. It will be an opportunity to be guided through authentic flavours, folk stories, and knowledge that continues to connect past and future.
With its strong sense of identity and its close bond with the tradition of wheat, Foglianise becomes the ideal setting for an event that is not just a celebration, but a living story of Sannio: a territory that recognises itself in its roots and transforms them into experience, hospitality, and sharing.
