Now in its 45th edition, the Cusano Mutri Mushroom Festival is an unmissable event that transforms the village into a capital of taste and tradition every autumn. From 19 September to 12 October 2025, for almost a month, the alleys and squares become the stage for an event that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors.
The star of the show is the porcini mushroom, celebrated in every form: tagliatelle with truffles, risottos, gnocchi, roasts and fried mushrooms, accompanied by cheeses, cured meats and wines from the Sannio region. But the festival goes beyond gastronomy: exhibitions, concerts, travelling shows, trekking, guided tours and activities for families make the experience complete and suitable for all ages.
The 2025 edition introduces the “Giardino del Matese” (Matese Garden), an exhibition dedicated to the flora of the new National Park, and an official app for managing parking and shuttles, confirming the desire to innovate while remaining faithful to tradition. The festival is not just a celebration: it is an ambassador for Sannio culture, combining taste, nature and local identity.
