From September 5, 2026 to September 6, 2026

Sometimes, the identity of a place can be found in something small and simple: a product of the land, closely connected to the habits and traditions of the people who live there.

On 5 and 6 September 2026, San Bartolomeo in Galdo celebrates the Pomodorino in Asciutta di SBiG, a product officially recognised with the local De.Co. – Denominazione Comunale designation.

One of the most interesting aspects of the festival is the way this local speciality is explored through food. Rather than offering a single menu, the event brings together six different food stands, run by restaurants and local organisations, each presenting its own dishes and flavours.

Visitors will find everything from cavatelli and orecchiette with tomatoes and sausage to rustic meat dishes, meatballs, sausages and sandwiches. Pizza, panuozzo and craft beer complete the selection, offering different ways to enjoy the festival and share a meal together.

Yet celebrating a local product also means celebrating the community that has preserved it. Food therefore meets popular culture throughout the weekend. On 5 September, the programme includes the 10th Folk Festival, organised by the local folk group La Provenzana, while on 6 September the 45 Giri live band will take the stage with a show inspired by the music of the 1980s.

For two evenings, this small tomato becomes the starting point for a much wider story: one made of flavours, people and traditions that continue to belong to San Bartolomeo in Galdo.
