Some recipes preserve the memory of a place and reveal how local communities learned to respect everything the land provided. Ammugliatiello belongs to this story: a speciality born from rural knowledge and the custom of carefully using every part of the animal, leaving no room for waste.
From 31 July to 2 August 2026, Contrada Ferrarisi, in the municipality of Ponte, will celebrate this culinary heritage with the fifteenth edition of the Sagra dell’Ammugliatiello. Made with suckling lamb offal, seasoned and patiently wrapped until it resembles a small ball of wool, this richly flavoured dish still embodies techniques, knowledge and recipes passed down within local families.
From 8:00 pm each evening, the food stands will serve ammugliatiello alongside sausages, grilled meat, montanara fried pizza and French fries, accompanied by beer and local wine. Crêpes and warm Nutella doughnuts will provide a sweet ending to the experience.
The programme also includes entertainment for different generations. The Game Park will open the festival with activities for adults and children, Michele Roscica will bring the energy of his musical performance to the stage, and a Dance Night with DJ Spok and DJ Spok Junior will enliven the final evening.
More than a celebration of a traditional recipe, the festival honours memory, hospitality and the timeless pleasure of gathering around the flavours of home.
