From July 31, 2026 to August 1, 2026

There is an aroma that immediately brings to mind home kitchens, pots simmering slowly on the stove and tables laid for the whole family. It is the aroma of ragù, which becomes the heart of a festival celebrating the most authentic flavours of local tradition in Fragneto Monforte.
On Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August 2026, from 8:00 pm, Piazza Aldo Moro will host the eleventh edition of the “Maccaruni e Braciola” Festival, organised by Pro Loco Fragnetana. For two evenings, the village will gather around a recipe that embodies the simplicity, patience and warmth of Sannio’s cuisine.
Penne pasta will be served with a rich and enveloping ragù prepared according to the Fragneto tradition, accompanied by braciola slowly cooked in the sauce. This combination recalls the special Sunday lunches when time spent around the table was an essential part of the celebration.
Music and the lively atmosphere of the square will make the experience even more enjoyable, with shared tables, encounters and evenings spent together. A detailed entertainment programme has not been announced, but flavour, hospitality and community will remain the true stars of the festival.
The “Maccaruni e Braciola” Festival is an invitation to rediscover a cuisine that needs no special effects: only a carefully preserved recipe, a lively village square and the genuine pleasure of sharing a meal.
