Statua esposta al festival
From August 29, 2025 to August 31, 2025

The SottoTraccia Festival was born from the idea of offering Benevento a space for contemporary art capable of going beyond traditional models. In a city with deep roots but often lacking places for experimentation, the project has established itself as a platform for mapping emerging art outside the major centres and making it accessible to all.
It is not a festival imposed from above, but an autonomous section within Benevento Città Spettacolo, which has thus found new life through research and avant-garde. Its strength lies in its approach: not spectacular interventions, but minimal traces and signs that change the perception of urban spaces and invite the community to experience them in a different way.
SottoTraccia has brought together local and national artists, different generations and languages, to create a real dialogue between tradition, contemporaneity and territory. It is a project created to bring out what often remains invisible: the creative undergrowth, the hidden energies, the connections that can redraw the cultural fabric of the city.

Curiosities:

  • Recognition from Madre – The 2025 edition has been awarded the prestigious patronage of the Madre Museum in Naples, a rare mark of quality that has given the project national visibility.
  • A name, a philosophy – “SottoTraccia” indicates the intention to leave subtle but profound marks, capable of transforming the city without invading it.
  • Between local and global – The encounter between 7th-century Benevento chant and contemporary performers demonstrated how the festival can combine ancient heritage and experimental languages.
