Some traditions can simply be observed. Others need to be explored slowly to be truly understood.

On Sunday, 23 August, as part of the Foglianise Wheat Festival, residents and visitors are invited to discover the town on foot with an Urban Trekking experience dedicated to the places and symbols of a tradition deeply connected to the identity of the local community.

The route will wind through the streets of Foglianise, visiting some of its characteristic places and offering participants the opportunity to get closer to the undisputed stars of the festival: the monumental Wheat Floats. It will be a chance not only to admire them, but also to learn how they are created, discovering the remarkable craftsmanship involved in working and weaving wheat through skills that require patience, dexterity and knowledge passed down over time.

The morning will also introduce another element of local heritage: the traditional costume, which will be displayed as part of the journey through the customs and culture of Foglianise.

The walk will end with a moment of conviviality, a fitting reminder that traditions remain alive above all when they are shared, experienced and passed on together.

A different way to experience the Wheat Festival: not simply by watching it unfold, but by stepping, little by little, into the history and identity of Foglianise.
