An Afternoon at the Stables

Summer is often associated with free time, new experiences and opportunities to spend meaningful moments together. However, for many teenagers with disabilities, the end of the school year and the suspension of educational and rehabilitation activities can result in fewer opportunities for social interaction and active participation in community life.
From this awareness comes Summer Together, a project promoted by the Rotaract Club Benevento in collaboration with Progetto Vita APS Benevento, under the patronage of the Rotary Club Benevento. The initiative was created to offer young people aged 14 and over meaningful opportunities for connection, discovery and personal growth through a series of activities organised throughout the Sannio area.
The aim is to create real opportunities for inclusion, encouraging active participation and giving young people the chance to enjoy new experiences in a welcoming and supportive environment. It is not simply about spending time together, but about building relationships, sharing emotions and strengthening the connection with the surrounding environment.
The first activity on the programme will offer participants a special afternoon immersed in nature and the equestrian world. At the facilities of A.S.S.E. – Accademia Sannita Sport Equestri ASD, the young participants will be welcomed into an environment designed to promote well-being, curiosity and meaningful interaction through activities specifically tailored to their needs.
The initiative is completely free of charge and is driven solely by the desire to share the beauty of the equestrian experience with the young participants. Giuseppe and the entire team of the Accademia Sannita Sport Equestri have enthusiastically embraced the project, dedicating their time, expertise and passion because they firmly believe that the relationship between humans and horses can be an extraordinary tool for personal growth.
For those who work with horses every day, a horse is much more than an animal; it is a companion capable of teaching trust, listening, respect and communication. This belief lies at the heart of the academy's philosophy: the conviction that through the bond with horses it is possible to create authentic connections and valuable learning opportunitiesthat go far beyond sport itself.
Through initiatives such as this, Summer Together aims to become an important point of reference for families and young people across the territory, demonstrating how inclusion can grow from simple gestures, shared experiences and the desire to build a community that is increasingly attentive to everyone's needs.
After all, it is often the simplest experiences that leave the most lasting memories: an afternoon outdoors, a new friendship, the beauty of nature and the opportunity to feel welcomed, heard and part of something meaningful.
