In Castelpoto, fusillo al ferretto is much more than fresh pasta: it is an ancient craft, a treasured tradition and one of the strongest expressions of the village's culinary identity. Every single fusillo is still shaped by hand around a thin metal rod, using the same careful technique that has been preserved for centuries.

From 11 to 15 August, the village hosts the 36th Fusillo al Ferretto Festival, one of the Sannio's most beloved food events, attracting visitors from across Campania and beyond to discover one of the area's finest traditional dishes.

The undisputed star of the festival is the handmade fusillo al ferretto, traditionally served with a rich mutton sauce, alongside the renowned Castelpoto Red Sausage, a Slow Food Presidium, and many other local specialities that celebrate the authentic flavours of the Sannio.

Throughout the festival, live entertainment and the warm atmosphere of the village create the perfect setting for sharing good food and meaningful moments.
