In the narrow streets of San Marco dei Cavoti, inside the charming 14th-century building that houses the B&B L'Antica Loggia, Zucche in Festa comes to life, an event that celebrates autumn with a mix of magic, games and flavours. From 26 September to 2 November 2025, every weekend, families can enjoy an experience designed especially for children, including creative workshops, face painting and the most popular activity: choosing and carving their own pumpkin.
The festival combines the Anglo-Saxon tradition of the pumpkin patch with authentic Campania, thanks to original activities such as the fried pizza workshop, which brings local flavours to the fore alongside the global symbolism of the pumpkin. There will also be tastings of seasonal dishes and typical local specialities, in a setting that recalls the historic gastronomic tradition of San Marco, already famous for its croccantino and torrone.
With its formula that intertwines history, creativity and hospitality, Zucche in Festa establishes itself as an all-round “Sannio Experience”, capable of transforming a simple festival into an unforgettable memory for young and old alike.
Curiosities:
- From the field to the village – The American pumpkin patch model meets Samnite tradition here, transforming a medieval palace into an autumn garden.
- Fried pizza and pumpkins – The culinary workshop dedicated to this Campania speciality is one of the festival's most popular attractions.
- A 14th-century palace – The location, an ancient marquis' palace, adds charm and history to an event designed for the present.
